The recent report by Australian’s Clean Energy Regulator illustrates the largest number of small-scale solar power systems installed across Australia since 2001, with a total of 2,678,954 installations.

This map shows the monthly small-scale installations in each state and territory, and the total of kilowatts installed for January 2017. Queensland represents the largest number of small-scale installations, with a total of 499,770 PV systems installed, followed by New South Wales (355,653) and Victoria (303,953).

Energy storage batteries are becoming popular with a total of 49 PV systems that had a concurrent battery storage installation in February, bringing the total of 2771. This number has significantly increased over the last few months as households and business have more knowledge of how important is installing solar battery with the solar panels system in order to become independent with no need of buying energy to external suppliers.
