Solar panel harness energy of the sun

The amount of electricity a solar panel produces depends on the amount of sunlight hitting the panel, the size of the panel, and the efficiency of the solar cells inside the panel.

On average, in Victoria, a 1kW Solar System will produce 4kWh worth of power throughout the year. This could potentially fold to only 2kWh in cold or overcast conditions but in summer, this figure could increase up to 6kWh.

For example, a 20kW system will produce on average 80kWh per day. The approximate monthly saving is $600! That’s a grand total of $7,300 per year being saved on the electricity bill.

At Energis, we like to take a look at how our systems are performing for our customers after they’ve been installed. Below are a couple of examples of how are systems are getting on this month.

Above is an example of one of our commercial installations in Croydon, Victoria. This system is a 30kW system and is only expected to produce an average of 120kWh. As you can see, the system is reaching levels of over 160kWh- way above if it’s average strength. This excess electricity can either be fed back to the grid, or stored in the energy storage system. This commercial business is making a huge saving thanks to the efficiency of the solar panels in place. These results were taken in October 2015, Australia spring time- imagine the results in summertime?

Above is another example of one of our commercial systems in Roxburgh Park, Victoria. This is another 30kW system and like before, is only expected to be producing 120kWh when in fact, this system is producing a whopping 200kWh.

If you are a commercial business in Victoria, considering a solar powered rooftop system is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. One of these 30kW systems shown above will save you approximately $900 each month, that’s $10,950 per year you could be saving.
