Deciding what inverter will go best with your solar power system? Do you have quotes from many companies all recommending a different inverter? Well, there are thousands of varying inverter brands in Australia, so we understand if it gets overwhelming. That’s why the team at Energis has put together a list of 3 additional things to look out for when choosing an inverter.
CEC Approval
All inverters should be Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved and should abide by the Australian Standard AS 4777, regardless of the type of inverter. For example, well-known brands such as INVT, SolarEdge, SMA, Fronius and GoodWe, which Energis provides, are all CEC approved inverters that meet all Australian standards with fantastic warranties to ensure the longevity of your inverter.
Generally speaking, majority of reputable brands will meet these standards, however, if you are presented an inverter brand that you’ve never heard of before, then make sure you ask your sales consultant if the brand is CEC approved.
Company Reviews
One of the most crucial things to look out for when choosing an inverter for your solar power system is company reviews. In order to ensure you are getting straightforward and honest information, you must go with a solar company or installer with a great reputation (like Energis), well-informed sales staff and most importantly, great reviews. Make sure to
The team at Energis would be happy to run you through the different types of inverters and help you figure out the best fit for you and your property.
Warranties/Fail Rates
It is important to consider the warranty that comes with the inverter you may choose. Majority of reputable inverter brands will generally come with a 5-10-year warranty to ensure your solar power system runs efficiently, maximises its production and is free of faults. If you are deciding between brands, ask your sales consultant of the fail rate of the inverters. This determines how many faults (many of which can be fixed by a simple restart) or potential malfunctions it may have.
Once again, if you come across an unfamiliar inverter brand, be sure to ask your sales consultant about its warranty, CEC approval and fail rate.
