From expensive energy bills to self-generated power, the City of Stonnington’s Education Centres and other businesses are engaging Energis to provide their tailored solar solution.

The City of Stonnington’s Sustainability Plan has been kicked into gear, as they work towards powering all council buildings and facilities with solar. Energis, Victoria’s number 1 renewable & alternative energy specialists, announced their involvement in accelerating the city’s green initiative, by providing tailored renewable energy solutions to businesses in Stonnington. Councils across the country have become increasingly aware of their environmental impact, with the main driver being the drastic changes to our climate. Stonnington strives to become a city that is cool in the Summer, green and sustainable.

The city has openly shared its goal of reducing carbon emissions to net zero by 2030. To set the tone for their residents and independent businesses, Stonnington has already installed 880kW of solar panels on their buildings and reduced their carbon emissions by 48%.

Having provided renewable energy solutions for a number of industries, including educational institutions, medical and aged care facilities, hotels and breweries, we understand the importance of completing an installation with little to no interruptions. That’s why, when it came to finding a supplier for their solar, the choice to engage our team of renewable energy specialists that could design, supply and install the perfect tailored system, was an obvious one.

We were asked to provide tailored renewable energy solutions to a number of organisations in the city, particularly schools and early learning centres wanting to become more environmentally sustainable. Beginning May 2021, Energis were set to install solar PV systems for:

Stonnington Children’s Centre
Stonnington Children’s Centre - 20.72kW
Early Years at Phoenix Park
Early Years at Phoenix Park - 59.76kW
Brookville Kindergarten
Brookville Kindergarten - 29.88kW
Armadale Learning Centre
Armadale Learning Centre - 29.88kW

Including our most recent installation of a 99.36 kW solar PV system at the De La Salle College Tiverton campus, these installations make up a total of 239.60 kWs, having a huge impact on reducing the City’s carbon emissions and saving these organisations hundreds of thousands of dollars to be reinvested in school programs.

As part of its Sustainable Environment Strategy, Stonnington continues to encourage residents and businesses to consider renewable energy solutions, including the installation of solar panels, energy storage systems and making the switch to hybrid and electric vehicles.
