Energis has created this Privacy Policy to clarify the various types of information we collect through our website, our social networking platforms that we use and your home solar energy system, our call centre as well as your communications with us and our sales consultants. All these services along with the services we provide offline directly and through our consultants and other providers are referred to collectively as our Services.
The Services are provided by Energis Pty Ltd (trading as Energis) and its corporate associates will be collectively referred to on this page as “we,” “us,” “our” and other similar pronouns. The information you provide our consultants and other service providers is passed to us and used by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Policy explains how we will utilize, disclose and safeguard this information once it is gathered, and how you can opt-out of some of our uses and disclosures of your information. By using our Services or providing us your information, you are granting consent to this Policy as it may be amended at any time.
Types of Personal Information we collect and hold
Personal Information is classified as information that can be used to identify you as an individual or allow someone to contact you.

Information about co-owners of the residence at which your Home Solar System is installed; The name of your utility company; electricity usage information, annual electricity consumption, average monthly utility bill amounts; type of home; and whether you own or rent your home; Other contact details such as social media handles; Financial details, such as your bank account or credit card details; Electricity Information (see below) and website usage information (see below); and Other information we deem as necessary.
You might need to provide additional Personal Information about other individuals to us (for example about your authorised representatives). If so, it is your responsibility to inform those individuals that you are providing their Personal Information to us and to inform and educate them about this Policy.
Electricity Information
Your Home Solar System sends us and our consultants and service providers information about your electrical system and electricity usage in your home. E.g, we receive: information about the solar-related equipment in your home, including makes, models, serial numbers, sizes, locations in your home, and photographs of the equipment as it is installed and of locations in your home where it is installed;
information about the amount of electricity produced by your system, when it is generated, and the amount used by your household, and by certain areas and appliances within your household; equipment installation diagrams, roof diagrams, shading reports; power, voltage, current, frequency, flow rates; system performance information;
thermostat settings; calendar schedule;
number of bedrooms in your home;
at-home / away-from-home system settings; system operating parameters including load control settings, air and water temperatures, system alerts; and The Internet Protocol (IP) address of your home Internet network and password. Electricity Information can suggest whether a household is vacant or occupied, and whether residents are active or not, and can detect whether an electrical device is not electricity efficient.
Website Usage Information Our servers automatically collect your IP address when you make use of them, and we may relate that with your domain name, internet provider or wireless carrier and your general location. We may also capture certain “clickstream data” concerning your usage. This information enables us to generate analytics reports on the usage of our website. How we gather your Personal Information

Marketing
Energis may utilize your Personal Information to inform you about any products or services that may be of interest to you or to let you know about any promotional offerings that may be running. These marketing activities may be conducted via email, phone, SMS, mail or other electronic means. We may also market our products to you through third party channels, for example, our social media platforms.

We will always provide an opt out across all our marketing offerings. All opt put requests are processed in due course, however, please keep in mind that it may take us some time (a few days) to process all requests. Even if you put in an opt out request, we may still contact you in connection with your relationship with us.

In order to meet your needs and wants and for the purposes depicted above, we may need to share your information with others. These others include:

Energis may store your personal information in various types of electronic or networked storage. As these types of storage can be accessed from different countries (due to the connection via the internet), it is not always feasible to track which country your information may be held in. The laws around privacy in these countries may be different to those of Australia and may be less protected. Organisations overseas may be obliged to provide information we share with them under foreign law. In that case, we will not be responsible for providing this information.
Accessing your Personal Information
Energis will grant you access to your Personal Information unless there are legal reasons preventing this. We will grant you access to your information where it is feasible and in a practical form.

As we are not always required to grant you access to your Personal Information, here are some of the circumstances where we are not obliged:

we believe there is threat or unreasonable impact to an individual’s or public safety; the information wouldn’t be ordinarily accessible because of legal proceedings; it would cause for bias negotiations with you; it would be unlawful or not accessible because of legal proceedings or harms the undertakings of an enforcement body (e.g the police); the request is frivolous; it would risk acting against serious misconduct by you or; it would harm the confidentiality of our commercial information. If you wish to make a complaint regarding how we handle your Personal Information, including if you think that we’ve failed to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP). We are committed to responding and acknowledging your complaint in a timely manner and will provide you an approximate timeframe for when we will address your complaint when it is received.
Social networking
We maintain presence on several social networking and blogging platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and our company blog and may incorporate some third-party social networking features across all these channels, including our company website. Through these various platforms and additional features, we may obtain some Personal Information and some Website usage data about you, and this Privacy Policy applies to that information. Third party social networking sites have their own specific privacy policies which explain how they (social media platforms) will use and protect your personal information.
Call recording
Your calls may be recorded when speaking to our call centre customer service members and may be used for training and assurance purposes. By calling us or our call centre service, you are consenting to this.

At Energis, we strive to ensure that we protect and secure your personal information to the best of our ability. However, due to the nature of the Internet as an open global communications tool, we cannot guarantee that any information, whilst on or stored on the Internet or our system, will be 100% safe from hackers or other intrusions. The Energis Website may contain links that lead to other sites. We are not responsible for these other sites, and it is recommended that you read up on other website’s posted privacy policies as this will set out the regulations of the collection and use of your information on them. You should be aware that your communication transmission might not be secure. We will have no liability for disclosure of your information due to unauthorized acts of third parties or potential errors during or after these transmissions.
