Switch to Solar at Home

With the rising cost of living, we understand you want to do all you can to minimise your electricity consumption related spending. By installing a solar system with Energis not only will you reduce your electricity bills, but you may also be able to claim up to 50% on Victorian Government Solar Panel (PV) Rebate.

For Households Interested in
Installing Solar Battery Storage

You may be aware or have some idea of the benefits of solar battery storage. Not only do these batteries provide a backup power source, but they also allow your household to save money by tapping into this stored energy later in the evening, instead of buying electricity from the grid. By installing a solar system with Energis not only will you be reducing your reliance on the grid during the day, but you will be able to store energy to use throughout the night.

For Households Looking to
Upgrade an Old Solar System

Your current solar system may have served you well for the past 20 years. What you may not be aware of is that solar panels lose their effectiveness over time. It may be time to upgrade or replace your system. A newly installed Energis solar panel (PV) system is guaranteed to last you 25 years.

For Households Building
Their New Home

You may have recently moved into your new home and be looking at ways to reduce your energy costs or maximise your property value. An Energis solar system will not only achieve both of these goals but will also assist in reducing your carbon footprint.

Frequently Asked Questions

The National Electricity Grid is the network that delivers electricity from generators to homes and businesses. When you install a solar PV system you become a generator of electricity, which can be fed into the grid. As this electricity is generated from the sun it is clean renewable energy.
When sunlight hits a solar PV panel, direct current (DC) electricity is produced and the inverter changes the current from DC to 240V alternating current (AC). This electricity can be used immediately within the home or fed into the National Electricity Grid (grid).
There are many different types of solar PV panels currently in the Australian market. The three main types are monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin film panels.
A solar hot water system uses the sun’s warmth to directly heat water. A solar PV system converts sunlight into electricity for use in the home or to be fed into the electricity grid. The heat output of the sun is not important for solar PV systems, but the amount of sunlight available is.
Generally, grid-connect systems direct excess electricity produced during the day back into the local electricity grid. This electricity is therefore not stored, and you receive a credit for any power that you put back into the grid. At night time, you automatically use electricity straight from the grid. Off-grid systems store energy produced during the day in deep cycle batteries for use as required.
On sunny days your solar system will collect the maximum possible amount of electricity. However, on cloudy days the panels will not collect anywhere near as much. You can expect the panels to gather around half the output that would be achieved if it were a sunny day. If the electricity obtained during a cloudy day is not enough to cover the household requirements, the system will use power directly from the grid.
You will need a battery backup. Energis provides this solution: residential energy storage.
The output of any panel will be reduced or cut off if shaded. However, some solar panels do work better than others in the shade. All solar panels sold by Energis have bypass diodes which work to overcome this issue. Dirt, dust, leaves, bird droppings, shadows from trees and vent pipes can all cause reduced output. Ensure you wash panels down occasionally with soapy water, especially if mounted flat on a roof.
