Because ‘Music Sounds Better When It Comes From the Sun’

d37c7ae3124b4448e6ee25e8cfe1ae75OFF.the.GRID, Australia’s first off-grid solar-powered music festival is set to take place at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art this summer.

The party is set to kick off on the longest day of the year- December 22nd 2015. Some of Melbourne’s greatest musical talents are all on board to perform on a five metre high solar powered stage.

‘Finding Infinity’, renewable energy enthusiasts, are hosting the event following similar events in London and Mexico. The entire event is all in aid of creating a self-sufficient Melbourne and all the money raised will go towards building a renewable power plant in Melbourne’s CBD.

DJ Edd Fisher has organised the line up for the event and has confirmed the likes of Cut Copy DJs, Banoffee, Tornado Wallace, Wax’o Paradiso and more are yet to be announced.
The solar powered stage will be accompanied by a large scale battery bank to store the energy for the event so the party won’t stop when the sun goes down.

The festival will have a zero-waste policy. All recyclable litter will be recycled and all organic waste will be used for compost. Any leftover rubbish at the venue will be used to create a piece of art and then auctioned off with all money raised going towards renewable energy projects. The money that the renewable energy power plant will save will go towards hosting another party!

The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art is located at 111 Sturt St, Southbank, Melbourne. The first release of tickets are $40 each. For tickets and further information, visit: http://www.offthegrid.global/
