feed-in

Feed-in tariff is a rate paid by an electricity company to a user for feeding back the electricity to the grid. It was introduced to promote renewable energy systems’ adoption among households and businesses alike. Most widely used renewable energy system, that generates electricity back to the grid, is a solar power system. For example if a solar power system installed on your roof top, the power generated by the system is first used to complement electricity usage and  the excessive power being produced is fed back into the grid, for which you get paid. The feed-in tariff changes from time to time and varies across states and regions. Currently Victorian earn an average of 8 cents per kWh. At the end of the billing period the total amount earned through feed-in tariff is credited to you.

Energis can design a solar power system that can cover your usage and get you some credits through feed-in tariff. Alternatively, you could get a hybrid solar power system that would not feed back anything to the grid and only store the excessive electricity for your consumption.
