Unfortunately, the news is true, the Victorian Solar PV Rebate is expecting a decrease in January 2020. We urge all Victorians who are thinking about getting rooftop solar, NOW is the best time to maximise your savings on a Solar PV system.
Households who start a Victorian Solar PV application and secure a place before Tuesday 31st December will be entitled to up to $2,225. Those who apply after Wednesday 1st January 2020, will receive a decreased rebate amount of up to $1,888. The interest-free loan amount will also foresee a decrease in 2020 but will still match the amount of up to $1,888.
However, there are still opportunities to secure a place before the 1st of January 2020. The solar rebate applications for November 2019 proved to have a significantly slower intake than previous months and an entire week went by before they were fully subscribed. This means there may be a greater window to get in and grab what’s left of the rebates for 2019. The Victorian Solar Rebates are opening again on Monday 2nd December at 12 midday, so make sure to have your computer ready to begin your application, accept your quote and secure your spot!
